Three Athletes represent HPC Elite at USATF National Championships

HPC Elite team members Allen Simms, Karjuan Williams, and Eric Broadbent represented the club at the USA Track & Field National Championships in Eugene, OR. Simms placed 14th in the men's triple jump with a mark of 16.04m. Karjuan had the 11th fastest time of the qualifying round but did not advance to the finals because of his placing in his heat. Broadbent placed 10th in the decathlon. He won the high jump event (2.14m) and established personal bests in the pole vault and javelin.

HPC Elite team competes at NC A&T

Jon McDowell placed 8th in a talented field of hurdlers at the Aggie Classic on the campus of North Carolina A & T with a time of 14.24 seconds in the 110H while Ruby Bost set a seasonal best of 1:02.87 in the 400m Hurdles.

HPC Elite Carin Knight jumps at UNC

HPC Elite team member Carin Knight jumped 1.75m at the 2011 UNC Kent Taylor to place 2nd in the women's high jump.

HPC Elite Eric Broadbent wins decathlon with new club record at Wake Forest

HPC Elite team member, Eric Broadbent, won the Wake Forest Deacon Combined Event decathlon with a club record score of 7,558 points. Broadbent established personal bests for his total score, first day score (4254), second day score (3304), 400m sprint (48.09), discus throw (39.15m), and the 1500m (4:41.34). Broadbent won 4 events en route to beating back a national class field that included 2 Olympians and 5 All-Americans.

HPC Elite Karjuan Williams takes 2nd in Jamaica

HPC Elite team member Karjuan Williams took 3rd place in the prestigious Jamaica International Invitational in the men's 800m run. His time of 1:47.26 was a seasonal best.

HPC Elite compete at UNC and Duke

The HPC Elite team was in action at Duke and UNC this past weekend. Highlighting the performances was a win in the men's 800m by Joel Williams with a seasonal best time of 1:49.85. At Duke, Ruby Bost ran her first 400m hurdles race in 5 years with a time of 1:02.88.

World-renowned distance coach, Dr. Jack Daniels, lectured to over 50 coaches at HPC's training center - Athletic Lab in Cary, NC. The 4 hour lecture was well-received.

HPC Elite in action at Tar Heel Inviational

Joel and Karjuan Williams placed 1st and 2nd in the 800m with times of 1:50.91 and 1:50.92. Jon McDowell won the 110m High Hurdles with a seasonal best of 14.24 in the preliminaries and 14.37 in the finals. High jumper Carin Knight placed 2nd with a seasonal best of 1.80m.

HPC Elite in action at Duke Invitational

The HPC Elite track and field team was out in full force at the Duke Invitational. Carin Knight and Karjuan Williams both won their respective events. Carin won the women's high jump with a mark of 1.73m and Karjuan won the men's 800m with a performance of 1:48.03. Pole vaulter Anna Wilson tied her personal best in the pole vault (3.20m); Jon McDowell and Eric Broadbent ran the fastest and 7th fastest times of the 110m Hurdles preliminary round (neither ran the finals); Broadbent placed 4th in the long jump (6.91m); and Joel Williams ran 48.91 in the 400m.

HPC Elite in action at Raleigh Relays

The HPC Elite team of Olympic Development athletes were in full force at the Raleigh Relays on the campus of NCSU. Carin Knight broke her existing club high jump record with a leap of 1.75m (5'9"); decathlete Eric Broadbent ran a 14.86 seconds in the 110m High Hurdles and 50.09 seconds in the 400m sprint; Tanya Osbourne and Ruby Bost both ran the 400m posting times of 1:00.25 seconds and 1:00.60 seconds respectively.
