Competing at TSU, Alie ran 7.52 in the 60m dash to turn in the fastest time in the preliminary races. Alie did not race in the finals. His winning mark of 15.57m was all the more impressive considering it was made from a short approach. HPC Elite Team member, Alie Israel, destroyed her old 55m personal record at the University of Florida Tom Jones Invitational in Gainesville. Alie's time of 6.94 in the semis won her heat, qualified her for the final and bested her old personal best of 7.10 set over 5 years ago. HPC Elite Team members, Nick Newman and Tiina Magi, took first place in meets on opposite sides of the country this weekend. Competing at the Gotham Cup Indoor Invitational at the Armory in NY City, Tiina won the women's triple jump with a best performance of 12.89m. This was a seasonal best for Tiina. HPC Elite Team Member, Nick Newman easily won the Northridge All-Comers meet in Northridge, CA with a winning performance of 7.60m. This jump was a big personal best for Nick. In addition to this big jump, Nick also produced several jumps over 7.40m.
