200th YouTube member subscribes to HPCsport YouTube Channel

The HPCsport YouTube Channel was first published on October 11th, 2007 and since then it's been very successful means of marketing both HPC and our HPC Elite team members on the internet. Yesterday, marked the day of our 200th YouTube channel subscriber. A small landmark that indicates the growing popularity of our brand and the usefulness of our services. We try to update our channel weekly so if you are not a subscriber already we encourage you to do so now.

HPC Elite qualifies three for U.S. Olympic Trials

Three members of the HPC Elite Team have qualified and will compete in the U.S. Olympic Trials that start next week. HPC Elite Team members, Alonzo Moore, James Jenkins, and Lamont Dagen all qualified for the 24 man field in the triple jump. The qualifying round of the men's triple jump is on July 4th. The top 9 jumpers return on July 6th for the finals and a chance to go to Beijing, China for the 2008 Olympics. Check back for updates.

HPC brings team of sport science specialists to USATF Jr Nationals

HPC brought a team of 13 people to the USA Track & Field Junior National Championships in Columbus, OH to manage the filming and analysis of all performances. Immediate feedback of the athlete's performances was then provided by HPC's expert sport scientists and sport technologists.

Nick Newman wins Empire State Games Regional Trials

Despite competing under 4 hour delays caused by rain and lightening, HPC Elite Team member, Nick Newman jumped 7.36m on his first and only jump of the night to win the Empire State Games NYC Regional Tryouts.

Tunde & Israel post strong performances at the SoCal High Performance Meet

HPC Elite Team members, Babatunde Ridley and Alie Israel posted strong performances at the Southern California High Performance Meet held at Mt. SAC in Walnut, CA. Tunde took 3rd place in the long jump with a best performance of 7.38m. Alie took fifth in the 100m with a performance of 11.74 seconds.

Alonzo Moore posts big win at USATF New Jersey Association Championship

HPC Elite Team member, Alonzo Moore, posted a big win at Monmouth University to take the USATF New Jersey Association Championship. Despite competing on a runway that was so short it forced Moore to shorten his approach by 3 steps, Alonzo handily won the men's triple jump with a best mark of 16.08m. Fellow HPC Elite Team member, Nick Newman also competed at the meet and despite turning in some big long jumps he had difficulty with fouling and posted only one legal jump.

Nick Newman takes 2nd in N.J. International Meet

Competing in sweltering heat at Holmdel, NJ, HPC Elite Team member, Nick Newman placed 2nd in the long jump with a best mark of 7.34m.

Alie Israel sets 2 Personal Bests at Jim Bush Invitational

HPC Elite Team member Alie Israel travelled to Southern California and tied her personal best in the 100m and crushed her old 200m best at the USATF High Performance Jim Bush Invitational held at Occidental College. Despite running into a -1.0 m/s headwind, Alie tied her 4 year old 100m pr by running an 11.71. The time earned her 7th place. She later came back to run a new personal record in the 200m with a 24.19. This performance easily won her heat and placed 5th overall in the 200m. Fellow HPC Elite member, Babatunde Ridley competed in the long jump and took 4th with a best mark of 7.17m.


Jared Porter gives two presentations at NASPSPA in Niagara Falls

HPC team member Jared Porter gave two presentations at the North American Society of Psychology of Sport and Physical Activity Annual meeting in Niagara Falls, ON. His presentation topics were:

Lamont Dagen featured in Kenosha News

HPC Elite Team member, Lamont Dagen, has made the front page news of his hometown newspaper. Checkout "Putting his best foot forward Kenosha Man eyes Olympics" about Lamont and his quest to make the Olympic team. To support Lamont as he pushes on to the Olympic Trials and beyond please consider donating to his Olympic Dream fund. Costs for travelling, lodging, and meals at the Olympic trials and beyond are estimated to be over $3,000. All proceeds go directly to Lamont.


James Jenkins wins triple jump at BYU High Performance Competition

HPC Elite Team member, James Jenkins, won the USATF High Performance section of the men's triple jump at the BYU Speed-Power Invitational. Despite jumping with a severe heel bruise that forced James to pass on 3 of his 6 attempts, James turned in the top two jumps of the day, besting Mark Kellman by about a foot. His mark of 15.77m was a seasonal best and just 3cm shy of the Olympic Trials 'B' standard.

HPC provides 2 days of video analysis for athletes at BYU Speed-Power Meet

HPC brought a crew of 4 to Provo, UT to video tape and analyze the performances of the elite sprinters, jumpers, and throwers competing at the BYU Speed-Power Meet on the campus of BYU. HPC provided this service over the two days of the meet as part of USATF's High Performance Plan to develop elite track and field champions.

HPC Youtube Channel adds 150th Video

The HPC Youtube channel just added their 150th video. We plan to continue adding videos of the HPC Elite Team members in training and competitions as well as many of the hundreds of exercise videos from our online video training library.

Israel wins 100m at Cardinal Twilight

HPC Elite Team member, Alie Israel, won the 100m at the Cardinal Twilight Invitational hosted by the University of Louisville. Her time of 11.73 was a huge seasonal best and very close to her all-time PR of 11.71.

Big Weekend for HPC Elite Jumpers

Most of the HPC Elite Jumps crew were in action this weekend. Alonzo Moore and Lamont Dagen competed at the Wisconsin Twilight in Madison, WI in the triple jump where they took 1st and 3rd places respectively. Alonzo posted an outdoor seasonal best of 16.21m. Nick Newman and Tiina Magi competed at the New Balance NYC Qualifying Challenge meet at Icahn Stadium in Manhattan, NY. Nick took 3rd in the long jump with a seasonal best of 7.48m and Tiina was 2nd in the triple jump with a best mark of 12.31m. Nick's mark qualifies him for his Olympic Trials (UK). Finally, Babatunde Ridley competed in the long jump in the Oregon Twilight at the legendary Hayward Field in Eugene, OR. Despite an injury that forced him to stop, Tunde placed second in the field.
