HPC is proud to announce the release of 4 new DVDs produced by Coaches Choice. On these DVDs, Mike Young presents on the following topics:

HPC Trained Dragon Boat Team Completes Successful Season

The HPC-trained Los Angeles Racing Dragons, an elite level Dragon Boat team, recently completed their successful season. Highlighting their season were wins at the Alcan Dragon Boat Festival in Vancouver, Canada and a win at the Long Beach Dragon Boat Festival.


HPC partners with The Varsity Zone

Human Performance Consulting is pleased to announce a new partnership with high school scouting company The Varsity Zone. We are working together to co-produce testing combines for prospective collegiate athletes as well as provide training protocols for their clients. 


HPC Elite Team Started

Human Performance Consulting is proud to announce the start of an HPC trained team of elite and emerging elite athletes. The objective is to recruit emerging elite athletes who have not reached their potential and train them to compete with and outperform the best athletes at their respective levels. The first HPC Elite Team will be in the sport of Track & Field however we will look to expand this in to other sports as time progresses. 


Mike Young instructs USATF Level 1, 2 and 3 in Chicago


Mike Young teaches Level 1 and 2 Biomechanics curriculum and a Level 3 sprints seminar at the USA Track & Field's Annual Coaches Education School at Loyola Marymount in Chicago. Mike is the only person other than Dan Pfaff to have instructed a Level 3 session for jumping events, throwing events, and for sprinting events. 

HPC helps athletes at the USATF National Championships

 

HPC manages and operates a high performance center at the USATF National Championships where our expert staff provided biomechanical analysis to the elite Junior and Senior athletes competing at the meet.

This is the second year HPC has provided this service for USATF. HPC brought a staff of 25 people to Indianaopolis, IN to video record, download to dartfish, and provide technical analysis to all athletes. For the second straight year, some of the video shot by the HPC team was used in the ESPN2 broadcast of the event.


HPC at Occidental Twilight Distance Classic

HPC provides filming and biomechanical consultation to the elite athletes competing at the Occidental College Twilight Distance Classic as part of USA Track & Field's High Performance Plan. A team of 3 HPC members gave world class consultation and advice to some of the country's best distance runners. 


HPC at BYU Speed Power Invite

HPC provides biomechanical consultation to the elite athletes competing at the BYU Speed-Power Invite as part of USA Track & Field's High Performance Plan. A team of 9 HPC members gave world class consultation and advice to the world's best sprinters and field event athletes. 


Congrats to Mianfang Ruan

Human Performance Consultings's motion analysis specialist, Mianfang Ruan, recently passed his dissertation defense and has earned his PhD in Biomechanics from Louisiana State University. Congratulations to Mianfang for the successful completion of his doctorate and for all the hard work he does with HPC.

Mike Young selected as keynote speaker at WISTCA clinic

Mike Young has been selected as the keynote speaker for the sprinting events at the Wisconsin Track Coaches Association. Mike will give four lectures:
  1. Mechanics of efficient sprinting
  2. Biomotor development for sprinters
  3. Planning training for short sprinters
  4. Planning training for long sprinters
